Verktum

Historical dimensions, ready for a modern workflow

Verktum is a compact converter for Swedish verkmått, Imperial feet and inches, and metric lengths. It applies a freely chosen scale and copies the result directly into CAD or another application.

Convert, scale, and copy

Switch between Swedish, Imperial, and metric input without disturbing the other settings. Results can be shown in millimetres, centimetres, or metres with zero to four decimal places. The compact window can remain above your drawing or CAD application.

The interface language follows the macOS language settings and cannot be selected within Verktum. English, German, and Swedish are supported.

Made for dimensions in old drawings

Technical drawings may combine historical Swedish measures, Imperial components, and a stated drawing scale. Verktum keeps those conversions close at hand without occupying much screen space.

File verification

SHA-256 checksum

SHA-256 creates a cryptographic checksum—a digital fingerprint of the downloaded file. If the value calculated on your Mac matches the value below, the file arrived unchanged and was not damaged in transit. A matching checksum verifies the file’s bytes; it is not, by itself, a guarantee that any software is safe.

To verify the disk image, open Terminal and enter:

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/Verktum-1.0-macOS.dmg

If the disk image is stored elsewhere, type shasum -a 256 (including the final space), drag the DMG file from Finder into the Terminal window, and press Return.

Installation

Installing an unsigned app

Verktum is not signed or notarised by Apple. macOS will therefore ask you to make an explicit exception the first time you open it.

  1. Open the downloaded disk image and drag Verktum into Applications.
  2. Try to open Verktum from Applications, then dismiss the warning.
  3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  4. In the Security section, choose Open Anyway and confirm.

See Apple’s instructions for opening an app from an unidentified developer.
